Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954 in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson, and Thomas Allison Lennox were her parents. Lennox was accepted to the Royal Academy of Music in London during the 1970s when she learned the flute piano and the harpsichord over three years. Lennox lived on the student allowance, and relied off on a part-time job to supplement her income. Lennox wasn't satisfied with the level of her abilities compared to the other students at the Royal Academy and began looking for alternative paths. Lennox began her career as an instrument player with the group Dragons Playground. She quit the group before they appeared as a guest on I.T.V's Talent program New Faces. Between 1977 and 1980, she was vocalist for The Tourists. A British pop band from the UK. They met Dave Stewart, with whom they would create the pop duo Eurythmics. Then, Lennox started working on her solo first album Diva that was released in the year 1992. It was a massive critical and commercial success. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth album as a solo artist was released in October of 2014. This C.D. contains a collection of Lennoxs favourite soul jazz and blues songs from her childhood. Lepidoptera is a collection of four piano improvisations, was released by Lennox in May of 2019. This E.P. This is the companion album to her Now I let you go... art installation, which was displayed at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. It's also her debut independent album. Annie Lennox is a Scottish artist and singer born on the 25th of December 1954. The Tourists had a minor hit in late 1970s. Lennox and Dave Stewart, a fellow musician, went on to gain international recognition in the 1980s with the Eurythmics. Lennox began her solo career in 1992, with the release of Diva with several hit songs such as Why and walking on Broken Glass. Medusa is the album she recorded as her first studio album in 1995. It has covers of some songs, including The No MoreI Love Yous and The Whiter Shade of Pale. Her credits include six studio albums solo as well as a compilation.
